Sam is a socially engaged artist working in a wide range of media, often re-purposed everyday materials, that directly respond to the concept and context of her subject matter.
Her work examines the contemporary societal narratives that formulate everyday experience: investigating, documenting, drawing semiotic analogies to explore cultural meaning and interaction. These framed instances tell the story of the often unseen hegemonies that underpin the quotidian.
A freelance curator and arts project manager, Sam is also founder and director of the multi-award winning, non-profit arts organisation Art Pop-Up where she is often to be found covered in glue and tape, leading a wide variety of arts & crafts workshops.
